Today’s Love List ♥
♥ Crazy successful fundraiser dinner last night for our team! God not only showed up but He showed off and provided our team over $1,200!
♥ Watching my team and their husband’s {and mine!} serve the Lord by serving others last night. I seriously have never met more hard working people in my life! So beautiful to watch and be apart of. Finding myself counting...
I picked up these beauties last Friday morning from a local shop called Cahoots {who wrote the sweetest blog about our team and the Kwagala Project here}!
We purchased forty of these amazing soaps as well as lip balms for the girls at the Kwagala Project!
I may or may not have gasped when I saw them!
I hope the girls feel so special as they open their care packages filled with these...
home ♥
Look who is HOME!
Baby Solomon!
Here he is with his grandpa Mike.
I can hardly handle the cute and kinda want to camp out outside their house and peek in their windows all day long just to see him at home with his family!
-But I am restraining myself.-
Last night on our way home from welcoming the Boswell’s home Nathan said, “That is an experience I will never forget. That is...
art auction- an unforgettable day
About a month ago my girls asked if they could have an art auction to raise money to buy donations for the kids at Sanyu Babies Home, where I will be serving at in March. I was so excited that they wanted to use their gifts the Lord has given them to to fill suitcases for the babies at Sanyu {the orphanage we adopted Ezra from}! I, of course, agreed and they have been...

wrapped up in His ridiculous love
“Who among the gods is like you, O Lord?
Who is like you-
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?”
[Exodus 15: 11]
I have been meditating on this verse for the last three days.
Do you ever have those days when you are so in awe of God’s ridiculous love that you are on the verge of tears all day long?
He makes me weep in a pew watching a family in Christ...

About ten weeks ago the Lord lovingly showed me an area that I absolutely had to allow [and ask] the Holy Spirit to set me free me from for Ezra and I to truly bond.
my tone.
This is something that I have always struggled with. All throughout my childhood my grandmother would tell me to “be softer.”
I had made huge strides in this area [to God be the glory] but was still greatly...

Ezra Samuel Metz
What we knew in our hearts in October of 2009 became official today!
Ezra is now a Metz!!
We finalized his adoption this morning here at our local court.
What a Christmas gift we all received today!
We were all a little bit nervous, especially Ezra and I, but the judge was so sweet {these photos were his idea!} and ruled favorably, which was a total answer to prayer!
We are so...
voicing praise
Tonight I sat in a room full of women, who just like me, are desperate for the Savior. I shared the story of the virgin birth and how God takes what seems like impossible situations and by His power and through His Spirit brings so much good from them. He takes the difficult and turns it into wonderful-only He can do that. And after I testified of His goodness in my life- women started speaking...
Sophie came to our bed this morning at 6:45am and snuggled up to my side {I love waking up to her attached to my side}. I began smothering her cheeks with kisses and she said to me, “Mommy-I love your kisses but not your morning breath.” Oh, I love her!
She is absolutely hysterical.
The funniest of our three little Metz’s.
By the way, Ezra boy will officially {Lord...

Saturday Nathan and I took Ezra for his first professional hair cut. Our friend Craig took us to his favorite barber in Indianapolis named Dexter. We had a great time fellowshipping with Dexter’s clients leading up to Ezra’s appointment. Although we watched two other women painlessly get their hair styled, Ezra was very nervous about this new adventure. As soon as we put him...

he points me to Jesus
Today has been filled with moments of constantly reassuring my boy that I am here to meet his needs, that I love him, and that I am not going anywhere.
A day of building trust.
Of re-do’s.
Of let’s try agains.

My heart feels like it is going to explode.
The Lord has been so good to me this week. He has been crazy this week-crazy good, crazy big. I love Him for how He so carefully weaves things together. For how He woke me up one day this week very early to remind me of something that needed to be done-a sweet reminder that He cares about the details of my life.
I am so overwhelmed by His goodness...
stewarding my time
{playing Barbies with Sophie after a morning filled with love, adventure, joy, and risk}
Last week the Lord dropped an opportunity into our family’s lap. After seeing what He does when we take Him seriously, last week I gave a lot of my time, prayers, and mental energy into this opportunity. Well yesterday the task got bigger and bigger, requiring more of my time and energy and I had a...
A reminder
This morning I was pretty grumpy.
Yesterday afternoon and evening most of my time was spent correcting and disciplining one of my babies. So, this morning when that same child needed correction right off the bat, I went into melt down mode.
While blow drying my hair this morning, I was reminded of a time while I was in Uganda serving at the orphanage. It was dinner time for the children, so...

A door opened
In preparation for this trip with Bridgette, the ladies team and I had been praying that the Lord would open a door for us to be able to serve somewhere else as well as the orphanage in March.
Yesterday, the Lord opened a BIG DOOR.
Our God-fearing driver, who I trustvery much, shared with me about an organization he is helping with and asked if I could check it out today. It is called Kwagala...
I am going to try and muster up the words to describe today for you.
This past winter Nathan and I became aware of a little boy here in Uganda that needed a family. We instantly fell in love with his smile and prayed that the Lord would confirm in our hearts whether or not he was our son. After weeks of praying, we found out that because of his age and our ages, we could not adopt him {we did...
love is enough
The needs here are overwhelming.
For the first few says here I often thought to myself, “am I even being effective?” {with over fifty kids were…sometimes a simple hug or nose wipe feels useless}
God was so sweet to me on Monday morning.
In a room full of twenty five itty bitty babies, He gave me the gift of changing a one week olds diaper. While changing it, babies’ umbilical cord fell off. Tears...
