This morning Mr. Metz invited me to breakfast in our kitchen. It was a treat, something we rarely get to do on weekdays. (I am usually at the YMCA…or sleeping in) We studied Job over peanut butter Captain Crunch and cinnamon Life. He looked so hot leaning over the bible reading to me.
What a perfect way to start the day.
Today is going to be a glorious one.

– A piece of Maddix’s prayer tonight. As soon as she said it, I breathed a sigh of relief. Today was one of those days when I felt like the big bad bully all day. It’s good to know that she is still glad I am here, even though she spent a better part of the day crying!

winter indulgence
Today I woke up to a mountain of snow, so I decided to self indulge a little.
I stayed in the moment with my tiara princess Sophie and listened intently to Maddix’s reasoning why pink is so much better than purple.
I put on some lipstick, took myself on a lunch date, and read a chapter of my new favorite book, Humility by Andrew Murray.
To top that off I went antiquing and bought 12 gold...
“Mom-eeeee,” Sophie yelled from the bathroom today. She trapped herself in there in the dark. It was as clear as clear can be. I mean she is 1.5 years old, she has mumbled it before but today, she said it. I about burst. I rushed to her rescue, swooped her up, and hugged her until she about burst!

the bombest chicken salad
ingredients:
rotisserie chicken, mayo, grapes, onion, celery, lemon
super simple directions:
dice meat from rotisserie chicken and put in bowl, add 1 C halved grapes, 1/4 C onion, 1 celery stalk, juice from 1/2 lemon. then add enough mayo to coat the chicken salad. season with salt and pepper to taste.
