I am going to try and muster up the words to describe today for you.
This past winter Nathan and I became aware of a little boy here in Uganda that needed a family. We instantly fell in love with his smile and prayed that the Lord would confirm in our hearts whether or not he was our son. After weeks of praying, we found out that because of his age and our ages, we could not adopt him {we did not meet the age requirements of Uganda’s law}. However, I loved this boy and could not let him go. A few weeks after finding out that we could not adopt him, the Lord gave me a name of a family to tell about this sweet boy. Well, God totally blew my mind… {like He often does} and this family prayed about it and decided to move forward with his adoption. Confirmation followed time and time again for this sweet family to adopt him.
So today, nearly a year after seeing this sweet boy’s photo, the orphanage director asked me to tell him {with the enthusiasm of his new parents} that HE HAS A FAMILY!
Words can’t describe how beautiful this moment was.
I told him that his family and best friend have been praying for him daily. He responded with a huge smile on his face and said, “I have been praying too.”
I showed him a photo book of his family and he smiled ear to ear with excitement.
It was one of the most amazing experiences I have had in my life.
He drew a picture for his new siblings and on it said, “God is Savior.”
Yes, He is.
All glory to God for this day.
