A door opened

In preparation for this trip with Bridgette, the ladies team and I had been praying that the Lord would open a door for us to be able to serve somewhere else as well as the orphanage in March.
Yesterday, the Lord opened a BIG DOOR.
Our God-fearing driver, who I trustvery much, shared with me about an organization he is helping with and asked if I could check it out today. It is called Kwagala Project.
This is their mission: “Ïn a sense, our strategy is simple: we work directly with former victims of child prostitution to help them recover their self-esteem and grow into the people they were meant to be. That means not just providing the basic support necessary for them to become self-sufficient, but helping them to value themselves, to find their own voices and to become leaders in their communities.”
Today, I had the priviledge to meet with the in-country director of this amazing orginization…twenty three year old Kelsey, who has lived here a year and a half to direct this project and is MADLY in love with the Lord!
As soon as I arrived at the rescue home, I was greeted by nearly twenty gorgeous teen aged girls who were once victims of child prostitution. They greeted me with hugs and huge smiles. After hearing the vision of Kwagala project, I shared with the director that I will be bringing a team of a dozen women back in March. The girls and director were so excited about the idea of an all women’s team coming back to visit. The director asked if the team would be willing to lead a women’s conference for the girls for a day, where we would do devotions with the girls and lead them in a time of worship. The director and I have so many more ideas of how God could use our time with them. I am so excited to go back home and share these ideas with the women going on the March trip! God is so good!
I also had the awesome opportunity to purchase several hundred handmade paper bead necklaces and bracelets from the girls. They sell them to support themselves so that they do not have to go back to prostitution. These girls LOVE the Lord. They danced and sang as I picked out the beads_which made me and the director bawl our eyes out! They told me they had been praying that someone would come soon and purchase the paper bead goods, as their funds were getting low. The girls encouraged me to sell them to help buy our plane tickets to Uganda to minister and encourage them with the love of Christ.
I can’t wait to show you their creations, they are absolutely beautiful! They are unlike anything I have seen in the markets!
It was an honor and a TOTAL God thing that today happened.
I, along with our team, have been praying God would open a door for us in Uganda, and He did it!
The director said these girls are in great need of outside godly encouragement-and our upcoming team has A LOT of it!
The women had been praying that more necklaces and braclets would sell…
and God provided the resources at JUST the right time (pay day was supposed to be tomorrow)!
I am in awe of the Lord!
This day, this trip, has been amazing!
We are headed to the airport in a few hours! Please join me in praying for a safe journey home to our families!
